Day 30 of My Journey to $40,000 Per Month (The Sweepstakes Just Ended!)
Today marks Day 30 of my journey to $40,000 per month, and honestly… a lot of interesting things have happened since my last update.
Some good.
Some slightly ridiculous.
And one or two classic “entrepreneur mistakes.”
But that’s part of the journey.
If you’ve ever tried building something online, you already know it's rarely a perfectly straight line.
Sometimes it’s more like a scribble.
The Sweepstakes Just Ended
The biggest update is that my sweepstakes just ended today, and it actually brought in quite a few new leads to my email list.
My list is now sitting at 250 total leads.
That might not sound huge in the grand scheme of things, but considering this blog and funnel are still pretty new, I’m honestly pretty happy with it.
Most of these new leads came from the sweepstakes itself, but a few people also signed up directly through my free training, which is always exciting to see.
What still blows my mind is the idea that my leads can invite other people into my funnel.
In other words… the system can grow itself.
That concept still feels a little magical to me.
The Goal: 40,000 Leads
My long-term goal is to build an email list of around 40,000 leads.
Why?
Because a common rule of thumb in online business is that a healthy email list can generate around $1 per subscriber per month.
So if you have 40,000 subscribers…
You can start approaching $40,000 per month.
Now obviously that’s not guaranteed, and results vary depending on the niche and strategy.
But it gives me a very clear target.
Right now I’m at 250 leads.
So yes…
I still have a long way to go.
But every big number starts as a small number.
And I’m not quitting.
The Sweepstakes Winner
The winner of the sweepstakes turned out to be one of my friends from Malaysia.
She was pretty excited when she found out she won.
And honestly, she earned it.
She brought in over ten people into the sweepstakes.
She didn’t bring in the most referrals, but the winner was selected randomly from all entries… and the random draw picked her.
That’s just how sweepstakes work sometimes.
Still, I’m glad it went to someone who actually put effort into sharing it.
An Idea for the Next Sweepstakes
This experiment gave me an interesting idea for the future.
Next time I might try a hybrid sweepstakes and contest.
Something like this:
Prize #1: Given to the person who refers the most people
Prize #2: Randomly selected winner from all participants
This could be powerful because it rewards both:
• People who work hard to share
• People who simply participate
That means more incentive to share…
Which means more leads.
Which means more growth.
The only catch is the prizes have to be worth signing up for.
Cash is nice, but after doing some research it seems that physical prizes like MacBooks and iPhones actually perform even better.
And honestly…
Who wouldn’t want to win a MacBook or an iPhone?
My Income This Month
As far as income goes, nothing new has entered my bank account since my last update.
My total for the month is still sitting at:
$1,810.05
Which isn’t terrible.
But of course…
I want more.
A lot more.
Most of that income is still coming from my job.
And while I can’t deny that jobs are useful for steady income, my goal is still the same:
Replace that income with online income.
So the real question is…
Will I quit my job again this year?
Let’s find out.
My Latest Case of Shiny Object Syndrome
Alright, confession time.
I bought another course.
Yes…
Again.
This one is an AI content creation course that teaches people how to build AI avatars to create content on Instagram.
And to be fair, it actually looks pretty cool.
But I also recognize the pattern.
This might be another case of shiny object syndrome.
You know how it goes.
Entrepreneurs see something new and exciting and suddenly think:
“THIS is the thing that will finally make everything work.”
I’ve definitely been guilty of that.
The funny thing is…
The strategy inside this course is actually pretty simple:
Create content
Build momentum
Grow an audience
Earn trust
Eventually sell something helpful
Which is basically the same strategy behind this blog.
So maybe instead of chasing the next shiny thing…
I should just focus on doing the work here.
The Truth About This Journey
If I’m being completely honest with you…
I get impatient.
A lot.
I want things to happen fast.
I want the million dollars to show up tomorrow.
I want the $40,000 months right now.
But real life doesn’t work like that.
Building something real takes time.
Momentum takes time.
Trust takes time.
So for now…
I’m just going to keep documenting the journey.
One day at a time.
Want to Learn the Strategy I'm Using?
If you're curious about how I'm building this online business and growing my email list, I put together a free training that explains the strategy I'm using.
No hype.
No get-rich-quick nonsense.
Just a simple explanation of how people are building online income step by step.
You can check it out here:

If it helps you even a little bit on your own journey, then this blog is doing its job.
And if not…
At least you got to watch me attempt to build a $40,000/month business in real time.
Which is either inspiring…
Or mildly entertaining.
Probably both.
