Day 132: I Finally Realized What's Been Holding Me Back

Welcome to Day 132 of my journey to $40,000 per month.

First off... sorry I missed yesterday's update.

I spent a lot of time thinking over my life, my goals, and honestly just trying to figure out why I sometimes make things so much harder on myself than they need to be.

And I think I finally figured it out.

June Income Update 💰

The amount that's hit my bank account for the month of June has officially climbed to:

$4,127.95

I'm pretty happy with that.

Most of that is still coming from my full-time call center job, but my goal has always been for my online business to eventually overtake my paycheck. That's the entire reason I started this journey in the first place.

The good news is I'm also expecting another payout from my main affiliate marketing offer next week, so June isn't finished growing yet.

Every little step counts.

Email List Update 📧

My email list is now sitting at:

2,797 leads

Yep... it's still slowly shrinking.

Normally that would bother me, but something interesting has been happening.

My open rates have actually been increasing.

To me, that's a really good sign.

I'd much rather have a smaller list of people who actually want to hear from me than a giant list that ignores every email I send.

And don't worry—I already have a plan to start growing the list again.

My plan is to get back into creating YouTube video reviews, which has historically been my best source of new subscribers and customers.

I Think I Finally Found the Real Problem

Over the past couple of days, I realized something about myself that has probably been slowing me down for years.

I have terrible shiny object syndrome.

If something doesn't give me results almost immediately, I start wondering if I should be doing something else.

Then another opportunity comes along...

Then another...

Then another...

Before I know it, I'm juggling 5 different ideas and making very little progress on any of them.

Honestly?

It's exhausting.

Today I had a job interview for a potential 2nd job, and during the interview I kept thinking about everything I've been trying to do lately.

Affiliate marketing.

Rank and Rent.

A 2nd job.

YouTube.

SEO.

AI.

Local lead generation.

Every one of those ideas sounds exciting on its own.

But together?

They're pulling my attention in 10 different directions.

And that's when it finally clicked.

The biggest obstacle isn't the strategy.

It's me.

Or more specifically...

It's my inability to stay focused long enough to let a strategy really work.

So What's the Plan?

After thinking about it for a long time, I asked myself one simple question:

What's the strategy that's already changed my life?

The answer was obvious.

YouTube video reviews.

Combined with affiliate marketing, they've already generated life-changing income for me.

So why do I keep trying to replace the thing that's already proven itself?

I don't think I should.

For at least the next 3 months, I'm making things simple.

No 2nd job.

No Rank and Rent.

No chasing every new business model that pops up.

Just creating high-quality YouTube video reviews, helping people solve problems, and recommending products and services that I genuinely believe can help them.

Sometimes the fastest way forward isn't finding something new.

Sometimes it's simply sticking with what's already working.

Something I'm Really Looking Forward To

Speaking of affiliate marketing...

There's a new affiliate marketing ecosystem launching soon that I'm genuinely excited about.

It shares some similarities with programs I've promoted before, but this one puts a much stronger emphasis on AI tools, automation, and building a complete online business.

From everything I've seen so far, the commission structure also looks really attractive.

If everything goes according to plan, I should be able to start promoting it around July 20th, and I have a feeling this could become my primary offer going forward.

I'm excited to dive in and see what it's capable of.

Final Thoughts

I think today was less about making money...

...and more about understanding myself.

Sometimes your biggest breakthrough isn't discovering a brand-new strategy.

Sometimes it's realizing you've been getting in your own way.

Hopefully this decision helps me build momentum instead of constantly starting over.

We'll find out together.

As always, thanks for following along on the journey.

I genuinely appreciate every single one of you.
