Day 142: Sometimes the Most Productive Thing You Can Do Is Rest

Welcome to Day 142 of my journey to $40,000 per month.
Today wasn't exactly the most productive day I've ever had... at least not on paper.
I spent a huge chunk of the day sleeping and taking naps.
Honestly, I'm not even completely sure why. My best guess is that it's my overnight call center schedule finally catching up with me. Working while most people are asleep definitely throws your body for a loop sometimes.
The funny thing is...
I actually feel amazing today.
Completely rested.
Clear-headed.
Full of energy.
So while I didn't get nearly as much work done as I wanted, I also know that burnout doesn't help anyone. Sometimes your body is telling you exactly what it needs, and fighting it usually just makes things worse.
I'm trying to get better at accepting that.
Not every day is going to be a grind.
Some days are for planting seeds.
Some days are for harvesting.
And some days are simply for recovering so you can come back stronger tomorrow.
July Income Update
As of today, $72.97 has hit my bank account for the month of July.
It's still early in the month, so I'm definitely happy to see the number moving in the right direction.
Of course... I want a lot more than that.
Thankfully, I should also be receiving another paycheck from my overnight call center job this coming Thursday, so that'll give July another nice boost.
Every deposit is another step forward.
Maybe it's a tiny step.
Maybe it's a giant leap.
Either way, progress is still progress.
Email List Update
My email list is now sitting at 2,534 subscribers.
Yep... it's still gradually shrinking.
Normally that might bother me, but I've actually noticed something really encouraging lately.
My open rates have been climbing.
To me, that's a good sign.
I'd much rather have a smaller group of people who actually enjoy reading my emails than a giant list that never opens anything.
That said, I definitely plan on growing the list again.
My current plan is to publish more YouTube review videos, continue creating helpful content, and possibly start experimenting with paid advertising in the near future.
I'm excited to see where that takes things.
Waiting on Job Applications...
The other thing that's been on my mind lately is the job hunt.
I'm currently waiting to hear back from several positions I applied for on Indeed.
I didn't receive any updates today, but honestly... it's Sunday during the Fourth of July weekend.
Most offices probably weren't even open.
I'm hoping tomorrow brings some good news.
Waiting for responses honestly reminds me of being a kid waiting to open presents on Christmas morning.
There's this mixture of excitement, curiosity, and anticipation.
You know something is coming...
You just don't know what.
There are 2 jobs in particular that I'm really hoping work out.
If I can land one of them, it'll put me in a much better position to move into my own apartment.
Right now I'm still living with Mom and Pops.
Is it my dream situation?
Not really.
But sometimes you have to make short-term sacrifices to build long-term freedom.
I've learned that there's no shame in doing what you need to do while you're building something bigger.
If living at home a little longer helps me reach my financial goals faster, then that's a trade-off I'm willing to make.
I'm playing the long game.
Looking Ahead
Tomorrow is a brand-new day.
Hopefully I'll hear back from some employers.
Hopefully I'll continue building my business.
Hopefully another small piece of the puzzle falls into place.
One thing I've learned over these last 142 days is that success usually isn't one giant breakthrough.
It's hundreds of ordinary days stacked on top of each other.
Some days are exciting.
Some days are frustrating.
Some days are surprisingly boring.
But they all count.
And I'm looking forward to seeing where this journey eventually leads.
