Day 43: I’m Starting to See What Actually Works (And What Doesn’t)

March 28, 20264 min read

So today marks day 43 of my journey towards $40,000 per month…

And honestly?

This past week felt like one of those “things are starting to click… but not fully yet” kind of weeks.

You know what I mean.

Like… you’re making progress, but you’re also questioning everything at the same time.

The Numbers (Keeping It Real)

Let’s start with the honest numbers.

My income for March is still sitting at $3,476.95.

That’s money that has actually hit my bank account.

Now technically… I did make a few more commissions this past week.

But they’re either:

  • Still pending

  • Sitting in Wise

  • Or sitting in PayPal

And yeah… I could move that money into my bank account just to make this update look better…

…but I’m not gonna do that.

Because I want this to be real.

No fluff. No fake “look how amazing everything is” energy.

Just the truth.

My Email List Is Finally Moving

This is the part I’m actually pretty excited about.

My email list is now at 730 leads.

And that’s a pretty big jump.

A lot of that came from me testing some paid traffic sources.

One of them is something called AI-filtered exit traffic.

Basically, from what I understand…

It shows my opt-in page to people who were already browsing online and have shown interest in making money online.

So instead of completely random people…

…it’s at least somewhat targeted.

And the craziest part?

I’ve been getting leads for about $0.80 each.

Now the real question is…

👉 Will these leads actually turn into buyers?

I don’t know yet.

But that’s part of the game.

You test… you gather data… and you adjust.

The Short-Form Video Experiment

This has been interesting.

Instead of spending a ton of time editing videos every day…

I decided to simplify everything.

I created a bunch of stock clips of “Jack” doing normal stuff:

  • Working on a laptop

  • Playing guitar

  • Eating steak

Then I reuse those clips to make super short (like 6-second) reels with:

  • Trending-style audio

  • Simple hook text on screen

Nothing fancy.

Just quick, repeatable content.

And surprisingly…

Some of these videos have already hit 2,000+ views.

Which is honestly better than I expected.

But here’s the honest part again:

👉 I haven’t really seen a big spike in free training signups from them yet.

So now I’m in that phase where I’m thinking:

  • Do I keep going and let it build momentum?

  • Or is this just vanity traffic that doesn’t convert?

For now, I’m sticking with it a bit longer.

Because sometimes things take time to compound.

The Thought That Keeps Coming Back

I put out another video review today.

And it got me thinking…

“Should I just go all in on video reviews again?”

Because here’s the truth:

Video reviews are what made me over $60,000 before.

They’re the reason I was able to leave my call center job for a while.

So logically…

That’s the obvious move, right?

But if I’m being real with you…

They can feel boring sometimes.

Dry.

Repetitive.

And I actually enjoy things like:

  • Writing these blog posts

  • Making short-form videos

Way more.

So now I’m kind of stuck between two thoughts:

👉 Do I follow what I enjoy?
👉 Or do I follow what I KNOW works?

And maybe the real answer is…

Somewhere in the middle.

What I’m Starting to Realize

If you’re reading this and you’re trying to figure out your own path online…

Here’s something I’m starting to understand more clearly:

There’s always going to be a gap between:

  • What’s fun

  • And what actually makes money

The goal isn’t to eliminate that gap completely.

It’s to find a balance you can stick with long-term.

Because consistency is what actually wins this game.

Not random bursts of motivation.

If You’re Just Getting Started…

If you’re anything like me…

You probably don’t want:

  • Another job you hate

  • Another boss telling you what to do

  • Another year going by feeling stuck

You just want something that actually gives you options.

That’s the whole reason I started this.

And if you want to see the exact foundation I’m using right now…

I put together a free training that walks through it step by step.

No fluff. No hype.

Just a clear starting point so you’re not guessing.

Final Thought

I’m still figuring this out as I go.

Some things are working.
Some things aren’t.

But I’m documenting everything honestly so you can see what this actually looks like in real time.

If nothing else…

At least you know you’re not the only one trying to figure it out.
