Day 46: A Small Win… But a Big Reminder
So it’s officially day 46 of my journey towards $40,000 per month… and today, I got one of those little moments that reminds me why I started all of this in the first place.
I woke up, checked my bank account, and saw a commission hit.
$134.24.
Now, I know that might not sound life-changing on the surface…
But here’s the part that really matters.
That money didn’t come from something I did yesterday.
It came from work I put in about a year ago.
And that’s one of the things I love (and honestly still kind of struggle to wrap my head around) when it comes to building an online business…
You can do the work once… and it can keep paying you later.
Not always. Not guaranteed. But it happens.
And when it does, it hits different.
Where I’m At Right Now
That $134.24 brought my total for March up to $3,611.19.
And since we’re right at the end of the month, this will probably be my final number… unless something random sneaks in at the last second.
What’s interesting is that this commission actually came from multiple programs I’ve promoted over time. It wasn’t just one thing.
Which again… just reinforces the idea that the effort you put in today can stack over time if you stick with it.
My Email List (The Slowest Part Right Now)
Right now, my email list is sitting at 727 subscribers.
No new leads today… but also no unsubscribes.
And if I’m being honest with you, this is the part that’s been testing my patience the most.
Because organic traffic is great. The people who come in are usually way more engaged and more likely to actually take action.
But…
It’s slow.
Like… painfully slow.
And when your goal is something like $40,000 per month, you start doing the math pretty quickly and realize:
“Yeah… I’m gonna need a bigger list.”
A lot bigger.
My long-term goal is to build this up to around 40,000 leads.
So yeah… still a long way to go.
That’s why I’ve been seriously thinking about testing things like solo ads or Facebook ads soon—just to speed things up a bit and get more momentum.
The Honest Truth I Had to Face
If I’m being real with you…
The biggest reason things aren’t moving faster?
It’s me.
I already know what works.
For me, it’s YouTube video reviews.
That’s the one strategy where I can honestly say:
If I actually do it consistently… I make money.
Not “maybe.” Not “hopefully.”
It just works.
And yet…
I haven’t been consistent with it.
Why?
Because it can feel boring.
Repetitive.
Monotonous.
And I think that’s something not enough people talk about when it comes to building an online business.
It’s not always exciting.
It’s not always this fast-paced, dopamine-filled grind.
Sometimes it’s just… showing up and doing the same thing again because you know it works.
That’s the part I’m still learning to get better at.
Why I’m Still All In
Even with the slow days…
Even with the frustration…
Moments like today remind me that this is worth it.
Because I’ve worked a lot of “normal” jobs in my life.
And none of them ever paid me a year later for something I did once.
This does.
And that’s why I’m not stopping.
