Day 8: Reciprocity, Small Wins, and Standing My Ground

February 22, 20264 min read

Today is Day 8 of my journey, and a lot actually happened.

I closed a $7 sale.
I kept a promise and generated a sale for a friend.
I stayed consistent with my daily emails.
I started publishing faceless AI-generated short-form videos.
And I got into an unexpected argument with someone trying to pitch me an MLM on Facebook.

Not exactly a slow day.

Let’s break it down.

So how much money have I made this month so far?

As far as money that has actually hit my bank account this month, nothing has changed since yesterday.

My total for February 2026 is still:

$3,577.31

However, I did earn new commissions.

I closed a $7 offer with a friend. Before she bought, I told her that if she purchased through my link, I would return the favor and close a sale for her as a bonus.

She bought through me.

And I kept my word.

I reached out to another friend on Discord and convinced him to buy through her affiliate link. That generated a sale for her, and I also earned a $14 second-tier commission as a feature of one of the programs I’m in.

Of course, none of this is official until it clears the refund window. Commissions aren’t real until they’re real.

But what felt good wasn’t just the money — it was keeping my promise.

Relationships matter. Reputation matters.

Small wins stack.

Aside from money, did I have any other wins?

Yes.

I stayed consistent with my goal of writing at least one email per day to my list.

One of my friends even reached out to tell me how much he liked one of the emails I sent. That meant a lot because I genuinely put thought into it. I’m not trying to blast generic marketing messages — I’m trying to build trust.

I also started putting out faceless AI-generated short-form videos.

I’m not completely sold on short-form as my main strategy, but I’m willing to test it properly instead of dismissing it. If I’m going to build something sustainable, I need data — not assumptions.

So I’ll probably aim for one short-form video per day and evaluate over time.

What did I work on today?

A good portion of today was spent networking, having conversations, and creating leverage.

Closing doesn’t always mean pressuring people. Sometimes it just means presenting something clearly enough that someone can make a decision.

I also:

  • Made a few solid Facebook posts

  • Published another short-form AI video

  • Sent my daily email

  • Sent out some friend requests

I didn’t get a YouTube review out today, which I’m not thrilled about. But consistency doesn’t mean perfection. It means showing up again tomorrow.

And then there was the MLM situation.

Do I have any interesting thoughts today?

I made a Facebook post about my Day 7 blog update.

Someone decided that was a good opportunity to pitch me an MLM opportunity in the comments.

Aside from it being odd to pitch under someone else’s post, I’m just not interested in MLMs.

I’ve tried one before. I’ve seen how they can feel. I’ve watched someone close to me go all in on one, only for it to fall apart later. That experience stuck with me.

When I declined, things escalated. The conversation turned passive-aggressive, and it became a long public thread.

Looking back, I probably could’ve disengaged sooner.

But moments like that remind me why clarity matters.

Not every opportunity is aligned.
Not every income model is worth your time.
And not every pitch deserves your attention.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned the hard way is that chasing every opportunity — especially when it looks shiny — can cost you momentum.

This time around, I’m trying to stay focused.

So what’s the plan for tomorrow?

I’m sticking with what I call the “Rule of One”:

  • One email

  • One short-form video

  • One YouTube review

  • One blog post

If I can stack those daily reps consistently, momentum should build naturally.

The real advantage online isn’t hype.

It’s consistency.

That’s it for my Day 8 update.

If you’re reading this and you’re in a job you don’t really want to be in — and you’re trying to figure out how to start making money online without experience, without MLM pressure, and without bouncing from one shiny opportunity to the next — that’s exactly why I created my free training.

It’s something I personally built based on what has worked for me — including the approach that allowed me to leave my call center job for a year before I got distracted and switched directions.

It’s beginner-friendly, realistic, and built for people who want a legitimate path toward making money online with the long-term goal of escaping their job and building something bigger.

If that sounds like you, you can check it out here:

If you opt in, you’ll also start receiving my emails where I share updates like this, lessons I’m learning in real time, and what’s working (and not working) as I work toward replacing my job again — this time with more focus.

Either way, I appreciate you being here.

See you in Day 9.
