Day 86 Of My Journey To $40,000 Per Month

Mother’s Day, Bacon, Feeling Sick, And Staying Consistent Anyway

So today is Sunday May 10th 2026 and officially day 86 of my journey to $40,000 per month.

Honestly… today barely even felt like a “work” day.

Since it was Mother’s Day, I spent a good chunk of the day hanging out with my mom and going on a walk with her and her dogs. We ended up stopping somewhere along the way and buying some premium bacon which immediately felt like a great decision at the time.

And yes… when we got back home I absolutely destroyed that bacon alongside some eggs.

Zero regrets.

Well… maybe slightly some regrets because I’ve honestly been feeling a little sick today and there’s a very real possibility I overdid it on the bacon. So if future millionaire Jack ends up being taken out by breakfast meat, at least you all know the backstory now.

Not Every Day Feels Productive

If I’m being real with you, I didn’t get much actual work done today.

No massive breakthroughs.
No huge business wins.
No “grindset” motivational movie montage.

Most of the day I honestly just felt tired, sluggish, and unmotivated.

And I think that’s important to talk about because sometimes online business content can accidentally make it seem like successful people are operating at 100% intensity every single day of their lives.

That’s not reality.

Some days you feel focused and unstoppable.

Other days you eat too much bacon and stare at your computer like it personally offended you.

Today was definitely more of the second category.

But even though I didn’t feel like working, I still managed to get this blog update done. And honestly, I’m proud of myself for that.

Because consistency matters way more than perfection.

My May Income Update

As of today, the amount of money that has officially hit my bank account for May is still sitting at:

$1,137.08

I’m expecting another affiliate payout tomorrow on Monday which should be nice, and then my regular paycheck from my call center job should hit on Thursday as well.

So assuming everything goes normally, my running total for May should look a lot healthier sometime next week.

And honestly… moments like this are a reminder of why I started this journey in the first place.

I don’t hate hard work.

I hate feeling trapped.

I hate feeling like my entire financial future depends on waiting for somebody else to pay me.

That’s why building income online matters so much to me personally. Even if progress sometimes feels slow, every extra dollar earned online feels like another tiny piece of freedom being built brick by brick.

My Email List Is Still Growing

Now for the email list update.

My email list is officially up to:

4,043 Leads

And I’m genuinely excited about that.

Most of that growth lately has been coming from solo ads and Facebook ads.

And honestly, I think I made the right decision by keeping my Facebook ad budget low for now.

A lot of people online talk like you need to immediately dump hundreds or thousands of dollars into ads right away, but I personally think there’s something really underrated about growing steadily and responsibly.

Right now my Facebook ads budget is only around $10 per day.

That’s manageable.

That lets me continue collecting leads and growing my audience without putting myself into a financial panic attack every time I open my ads dashboard.

I’ve been debating whether I should temporarily shut Facebook ads off completely to save extra money, but at the same time… $10 per day really isn’t outrageous either.

So I’m still thinking about it.

That’s one thing I’ve learned about building an online business by the way…

You’re constantly making little judgment calls.

Should I scale this?
Should I pause this?
Should I reinvest more?
Should I play it safer?

Nobody talks enough about how much of entrepreneurship is honestly just making educated guesses and hoping your future self says “good job” instead of “what were you thinking?”

Consistency Builds Momentum

Even though today wasn’t some ultra-productive hustle day, I still think it mattered.

Because every blog post I make adds another piece to the foundation I’m building.

Every video.
Every email.
Every update.
Every lead.
Every lesson.

It all stacks together over time.

And the cool thing is that content compounds.

Someone could discover one of these blog posts weeks, months, or even years from now and end up joining my free training because they connected with my story.

That’s powerful.

And honestly, that’s one of the reasons I keep documenting this journey publicly even on the messy, imperfect days.

I don’t want this journey to feel fake.

I want people to see the real version of trying to build something online while still balancing regular life, bills, jobs, energy levels, self-doubt, motivation swings, and random bacon-related health incidents.

I’ll Be Honest… I’m Impatient

I’m proud of myself for staying consistent.

But I’ll also admit something.

I wish I was already rich.

I am an extremely impatient person when it comes to goals.

Once I see a vision in my head, I want it now.

I want the freedom now.
I want the flexibility now.
I want the ability to help my family now.
I want the ability to create whatever I want without worrying about money now.

But life usually doesn’t work like that.

Most people never see the years of uncertainty behind somebody finally “making it.”

They only see the highlight reel at the end.

So for now, I’ll keep stacking days.

One blog post at a time.
One lead at a time.
One payout at a time.

Final Thoughts

Anyway, that about wraps up day 86.

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be feeling a little more alive and a little less like a man defeated by breakfast food.
