Day 90 Of My Journey To $40,000 Per Month – A Weird AI Future, A Big Paycheck, And Finally Seeing Momentum

May 15, 20264 min read

So today is Thursday, May 14th, 2026 and officially day ninety of my journey to forty thousand dollars per month.

And honestly… today felt pretty good.

I had a big paycheck hit my bank account from my call center job, I got a new review video published, my email list kept growing, and I spent a lot of time thinking about AI, online business, and what the future is going to look like over the next few years.

Let’s talk about it.

My Income For May So Far

So the amount of money that has officially hit my bank account for the month of May is now sitting at $3,663.56.

That number jumped up because I got paid $1,704.56 from my full time call center job today.

And look… I’m genuinely grateful for these paychecks.

For the amount of actual work I do there compared to some of the jobs I’ve had in the past, it’s honestly not bad at all. I’ve worked jobs that were WAY harder physically and mentally for a lot less money.

But what’s really interesting to me is this:

I think this is officially the first blog update where the majority of the money I’ve made this month has come from my online business activities instead of my regular job.

That’s a huge mental milestone for me.

Even though I’m obviously not at forty thousand dollars per month yet, moments like this make everything feel a little more real. It starts to feel less like some fantasy goal floating around in my head and more like something that could actually happen if I stay focused long enough.

And honestly, that’s exciting.

My Email List Is Growing Again

My email list is now up to 4,065 leads.

That growth mostly came from one of my solo ad orders combined with organic traffic from YouTube and Facebook.

And the more I look at everything objectively, the more I think my YouTube review videos are doing a LOT of heavy lifting for my business.

Which means I probably already know exactly what I should be focusing on.

More review videos.

More consistency.

Less shiny object syndrome.

I swear, sometimes I act like a raccoon that sees a shiny object in the distance and immediately forgets what I was originally doing.

One minute I’m focused on YouTube.

Then suddenly I’m researching some new traffic source.

Then I’m redesigning a funnel.

Then I’m looking at AI tools for three hours.

Then I’m convinced I need to rebuild my entire business strategy from scratch.

Meanwhile the thing actually getting me leads and sales is sitting there quietly like:

“Hey man… remember me?”

So yeah. Time to get serious.

Time to stay focused.

Time to stop constantly reinventing the wheel.

I Finally Put Out Another Review Video

And today I actually managed to put out another review video.

Yay me.

Hooray for not getting distracted and actually getting something DONE today.

The video itself was generated using an AI video app and honestly… I think it turned out pretty good all things considered.

But man…

Working with AI sometimes feels like dealing with the smartest idiot on planet Earth.

One moment it creates this insanely polished video with fancy graphics, smooth transitions, good pacing, cinematic visuals, and everything looks amazing.

Then the next time you use it, it generates something so horrifying and awkward that you wouldn’t even show it to your worst enemy.

I spend so much time fumbling around with prompts, settings, voiceovers, transitions, and random AI weirdness that sometimes I genuinely wonder if I should just go back to manually making slideshow videos myself.

Because at a certain point it almost feels like the same amount of work anyway.

But at the same time…

I really do think AI is the future.

I think eventually these AI video tools are going to become ridiculously powerful.

Like imagine being able to type two or three simple sentences into an app and getting back a fully edited high quality YouTube video that actually looks GOOD.

That future honestly feels pretty close.

And even though the current versions of these tools can be frustrating sometimes, I feel like learning them now is probably the smart move long term.

So I’m sticking with it.

And hey, as long as the videos keep bringing in traffic, leads, and sales… I won’t complain too much.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’d say today was a good day.

A good paycheck.

A growing email list.

Another video published.

And maybe most importantly… a reminder that consistency actually matters.

Not motivation.

Not hype.

Not finding the “perfect” strategy.

Just consistently showing up and doing the work even when your brain wants to run in twelve different directions.

That’s probably the real game.

Anyway, thanks for following along on this weird journey with me.
