Day 93 Of My Journey To $40,000 Per Month – WordPress Nearly Broke Me

May 18, 20264 min read

So today is Sunday, May 17th 2026 and officially day 93 of my journey to $40,000 per month online.

And wow.

Today felt like one of those days where you sit down thinking you’re about to make massive progress… only for technology to humble you for 10 straight hours.

Gotta love WordPress, right?

But honestly, days like this are part of the journey. Nobody really talks about this side of trying to build an online business. People love posting screenshots, fancy dashboards and “I made money while sleeping” posts… but they don’t usually show the part where they’re staring at a broken website at 2 in the morning wondering if they accidentally destroyed the internet.

So let’s get into it.

Income Update

As of today, the amount of money that has actually hit my bank account for May is sitting at $3,663.56.

Not bad for the middle of the month.

I also have a few commissions currently sitting in the waiting period, so those should be clearing over the next several days too. I’m definitely hoping to finish this month strong.

Honestly, seeing numbers like this still feels surreal sometimes.

Not because I’m some millionaire now. I’m not.

But because there was a time where making even a few hundred dollars online felt impossible to me.

Back then, this whole world felt fake, confusing and overcomplicated. Like something that only worked for “other people.”

Now I’m sitting here documenting a real journey in real time.

That’s pretty cool.

Email List Update

My email list has now grown to 4,090 leads.

It’s growing steadily every single day.

A few leads here.
A few more there.

Nothing insanely viral yet.

But honestly? I’m learning that consistency matters way more than random bursts of motivation.

My YouTube channel, blog and Facebook content seem to be doing a pretty good job of bringing in a steady stream of people who are interested in escaping the 9-to-5 grind and building something for themselves.

And that’s exciting.

Although I’ll admit…

Part of me wishes I could just smash the fast-forward button and skip ahead a few years.

You ever feel that way?

Like you know you’re moving in the right direction… but you wish the results would hurry up already?

Yeah. That’s definitely where my head is at right now.

The New Program I Bought

So yesterday I mentioned that I picked up a brand new program.

The main idea behind it is actually really fascinating.

It teaches you how to create a WordPress blog that can automatically generate SEO-focused blog posts using AI. The software can even generate images for the articles too.

In other words…

The goal is to create long-lasting free organic traffic from Google without having to manually write every single post yourself.

Pretty wild when you think about it.

The system is supposed to be almost fully automated once everything is set up correctly.

So naturally, before I started the training, I told myself:

“Alright Jack… just follow the videos carefully, don’t skip steps and everything should work perfectly.”

Famous last words.

WordPress Decided To Fight Me

For whatever reason, my plugins absolutely refused to generate posts automatically at the scheduled times.

Nothing happened.

No posts.
No automation.
No magical AI blog empire.

Just confusion.

And since I’m not exactly some hardcore tech wizard, I was completely lost trying to figure out what went wrong.

So there I was…

Me.
WordPress.
A bunch of confusing settings.
And ChatGPT trying to help me troubleshoot everything for hours.

Honestly, if I added up all the time I spent today setting up the site, watching training videos, troubleshooting errors and trying not to lose my sanity… it was probably over 10 hours total.

And the crazy part?

The technical issue was so time-consuming that I STILL haven’t finished all the setup videos yet.

That’s the part nobody tells you about building online businesses.

Sometimes progress looks exciting.

Other times it looks like refreshing a settings page 57 times while questioning every life decision that led you there.

I’m not gonna lie… by the end of the night I definitely felt a little defeated.

But at least tomorrow is Monday.

The support team should finally be back online, so hopefully we can get everything fixed and moving properly.

And honestly?

Even though today was frustrating, I still feel excited about the bigger picture.

Because if I can get this system working correctly… it could become another long-term traffic source that keeps bringing people into my world day after day.

That’s the goal.

Not just quick wins.

Real systems.
Real assets.
Real freedom.

Final Thoughts

Anyway, that wraps up day 93.

Some days in this journey feel exciting and motivating.

Other days feel like you’re being personally attacked by software.

Today was definitely the second one.

But we keep moving forward.

And if you’re somebody who wants to learn how to start making money online and potentially escape the 9-to-5 grind someday too, I put together a free training that walks through what’s been helping me.
