Day 94: A Thunderstorm, A Broken Website, And Why I Want To Be Rich

May 19, 20265 min read

So today is Monday, May 18th, 2026.

And officially day 94 of my journey to $40,000 per month.

Honestly… today was kind of chaotic.

At one point during my overnight shift at my call center job, a thunderstorm completely knocked out the power to my neighborhood. Since I work from home, that basically meant my shift got cut in half instantly. No power. No internet. No work.

Not exactly ideal.

But weirdly enough, that wasn’t even the most frustrating part of my day.

The real battle today was my WordPress blog.

Let’s get into it.

My Current Numbers

So first off…

The amount of money that has hit my bank account for the month of May is currently sitting at:

$3,663.56

Not bad honestly.

Especially considering I still have multiple commissions sitting in a pending waiting period right now that should start clearing over the next few days.

I’m definitely hoping to finish this month strong.

And as for my email list…

That number actually dipped slightly down to:

4,086 leads

Which honestly is fine.

Yeah, I had some unsubscribes, but I’m still getting organic leads coming in from YouTube, my blog, and even a solo ad order that’s still running in the background.

That’s the game sometimes.

Some people leave.

New people come in.

You keep moving.

No panic button needed.

Honestly, once I get my AI-generated WordPress articles fully running the way I want them to, I think things could start snowballing in a really exciting way.

Because organic traffic?

That’s the dream.

Imagine waking up and seeing people finding your content while you were sleeping.

No cold messaging.

No chasing people around.

No begging for attention.

Just people naturally finding your content because Google decided it was useful enough to show them.

That’s powerful.

The Thunderstorm Situation

So yeah…

While I was working my overnight shift at the call center, a thunderstorm rolled through and completely took out the power for my area.

And if you work from home, you already know how annoying that is.

Your entire job basically depends on electricity and internet working properly.

The second those disappear…

You’re done.

Game over.

I guess the silver lining is I got a little extra sleep afterward.

So I’ll take that win.

But it definitely reminded me how fragile modern life can feel sometimes.

One storm and suddenly everything stops working.

My WordPress Blog Was Driving Me Insane

Now THIS was the real headache.

For the last couple days, I’ve been trying to get my WordPress blog working properly so I can start automating parts of my content strategy.

And man…

I was losing my mind.

Things weren’t working correctly.

Articles weren’t posting correctly.

Schedules were acting weird.

Loopback errors.

Cron issues.

Random glitches.

At one point I genuinely started questioning whether I broke my website somehow.

The worst part?

I’m still pretty new to WordPress.

So when something technical goes wrong, it can feel like trying to solve a puzzle written in alien language.

Eventually I hit a point where I just said:

“You know what? Forget this.”

So I hired a specialist.

The deal was actually kind of funny.

They promised they could fix the issue within 4 hours or my money back.

I paid around $200 and honestly just hoped for the best.

And you know what?

The guy absolutely crushed it.

He fixed everything in like 1 to 2 hours.

I was seriously impressed.

I even asked him afterward:

“Be honest… was this something obvious I overlooked?”

And thankfully he basically told me:

“Nope. This was technical backend stuff.”

That made me feel WAY better.

Because for a while there I thought I was just being an idiot.

But now?

It finally looks like the blog is working properly.

Which is exciting because once I get these AI-generated articles consistently publishing…

That opens the door to long-lasting organic traffic.

And in digital marketing…

Organic traffic is basically the holy grail.

Imagine planting seeds today that could bring in leads for months… maybe even years.

That’s the kind of stuff I’m trying to build.

This Whole Situation Made Me Think About Money Differently

You know what’s funny?

This whole experience actually reminded me why I want money so badly in the first place.

Not for flashy cars.

Not for showing off.

Not for Instagram pictures pretending I’m richer than I am.

I want money because money solves problems.

Yesterday I was stressed out beyond belief trying to fix this technical issue by myself.

Today?

I spent a couple hundred dollars and the problem disappeared.

That’s powerful.

People always say:

“Money can’t buy happiness.”

And honestly…

I disagree.

I think money absolutely CAN buy happiness if you spend it on the right things.

Money can buy:

  • Peace of mind

  • Convenience

  • Freedom

  • Time

  • Less stress

  • Better opportunities

  • Better experiences

  • Faster solutions to problems

And honestly?

That sounds pretty amazing to me.

I’m not chasing $40,000 per month because I want to flex online.

I’m chasing it because I want options.

I want freedom.

I want the ability to solve problems without panicking.

I want the ability to wake up and decide what I want my life to look like.

That’s the real goal.

Final Thoughts

Overall…

Today was messy.

Thunderstorms.

Power outages.

Website issues.

Stress.

But honestly?

I still feel optimistic.

Because even with all the chaos, I feel like I’m slowly building momentum.

And momentum matters.

A few years ago I had absolutely no idea how online business worked.

Now I’m building blogs, email lists, funnels, content systems, automation, and learning new skills almost every single day.

That’s progress.

Slow progress is still progress.

And I genuinely believe that if you keep learning, keep adapting, and keep showing up…

Eventually things start clicking.
