Day 97 Of My Journey To $40,000 Per Month (The AI Blog Struggle Is Real)
So today is Thursday, May 21, 2026, and officially Day 97 of my journey towards making $40,000 per month online.
And honestly?
Today felt like one of those “2 steps forward, 1 step back” kind of days.
You know the type.
You make progress… then immediately run into some weird technical issue that makes you question your sanity for about 20 minutes.
But hey, that’s entrepreneurship for you.
Today I spent a good chunk of my time hunting down better keywords for my new WordPress blog and polishing up some of the AI-generated articles it’s been creating for me. I’m still dealing with some annoying custom plugin issues too, but I’m refusing to let this thing beat me.
We keep moving.
My Current Income Update
So for the amount of money that has officially hit my bank account during the month of May so far…
I’m currently sitting at:
$3,857.46
No new commission payouts came in today unfortunately, so the number stayed exactly the same.
Not gonna lie, I was hoping to wake up to a surprise payment notification.
Maybe tomorrow.
That’s one thing about building income online that people don’t always talk about enough. Some days feel exciting and fast-paced… and other days feel weirdly quiet.
But the important thing is continuing to build anyway.
Email List Update
My email list has now grown slightly to:
4,096 leads
What’s funny though is that a bunch of the leads that came in today actually came from an old solo ad order that was supposedly completed a while ago.
So apparently this seller randomly decided to keep sending traffic.
Now normally I’d be excited about free extra leads…
But honestly?
The original traffic quality wasn’t very good.
A lot of the emails were either unresponsive, low quality, or didn’t even seem like real people in the first place.
So getting more of those leads isn’t exactly the greatest gift in the world.
I did leave a low rating on the order though, so maybe this is her version of trying to “make things right.”
I don’t know.
The solo ad world can honestly be kind of weird sometimes.
AI Is Somehow Brilliant And Ridiculous At The Same Time
Now let’s talk about this WordPress AI blog situation for a second.
Because wow.
AI is simultaneously one of the smartest inventions ever created…
…and also one of the dumbest.
Some of the original articles this thing was generating for me were absolutely painful to read.
Like genuinely cringey.
You ever read something AI wrote and think:
“There is absolutely no way a real human being would ever say this out loud.”
That was basically my experience.
Some articles sounded robotic.
Some sounded repetitive.
And some just flat-out made no sense whatsoever.
So I realized pretty quickly that if I actually wanted this blog to help me build trust with people and get readers to sign up for my free training…
…I had to improve the quality.
A lot.
That’s when I started digging deeper into keyword research and giving the AI much better inputs to work with.
And honestly?
It started helping immediately.
The articles suddenly became more natural, more readable, and way more useful.
Not perfect yet.
But definitely moving in the right direction.
And that’s really the whole game sometimes.
Small improvements stacked consistently over time.
That’s how you slowly build something real.
The Annoying Part Nobody Talks About
Of course… right when things started improving…
One of my custom plugins decided to stop working properly.
Because apparently the universe likes comedic timing.
So now I’ll probably have to spend even more money hiring a WordPress specialist to come in and fix everything.
Not exactly how I wanted to spend my money.
But honestly, this is part of the process too.
People see successful online businesses later on and think it all happened magically.
What they don’t see are the weird plugin errors, random tech problems, failed traffic campaigns, bad leads, broken automations, confusing dashboards, refund headaches, and all the other chaotic nonsense happening behind the scenes.
Sometimes this stuff feels less like “building a business” and more like trying to duct tape together a spaceship while it’s already flying through the air.
But I’m still here.
Still building.
Still learning.
Still figuring it out one day at a time.
And that’s what matters.
Final Thoughts
Anyway, that pretty much wraps up Day 97.
Some progress.
Some frustrations.
Some weird AI-generated nonsense.
A pretty normal entrepreneur day honestly.
But little by little, things are improving.
And that’s what keeps me motivated.
