Journey to $40,000/Month Online – Day 113 (Food Poisoning, Waiting Games, and Another Affiliate Payout)

Saturday, June 6, 2026

Today officially marks Day 113 of my journey to $40,000 per month online.

And honestly?

The last couple of days have been rough.

I actually missed a few blog updates because I got what I'm pretty sure was food poisoning from a Chinese buffet I went to. Not exactly the productivity hack I was hoping to discover.

For the past couple of days, I was dealing with nausea, throwing up, and generally feeling like I got hit by a truck.

To make things even more fun, I have epilepsy, and dehydration plus lack of sleep aren't exactly things my body appreciates. So between being sick and trying to recover, most of my focus has been on getting back to feeling normal again.

Thankfully, I'm feeling much better now.

And while the last few days weren't very productive, there was at least one nice surprise waiting for me this morning.

Another Affiliate Payout Hits My Bank Account

Today I woke up to an $88.65 affiliate payout hitting my bank account.

It's not life-changing money.

It's not retirement money.

But it is money that showed up because of work I did in the past.

And that's one of the things I love about affiliate marketing.

A lot of people look at an $88 payout and think it's small.

I look at it differently.

I look at it as proof.

Proof that content, emails, videos, and systems I created previously are still generating income today.

Those little payouts have a funny habit of stacking on top of each other over time.

One affiliate commission becomes 2.

Then 5.

Then 10.

Then eventually you start having months where multiple income streams are paying you at the same time.

That's really the game I'm trying to play.

Not chasing one giant payday.

Building enough assets and systems that lots of smaller payments start showing up consistently.

June Income Update

With today's payout, the amount of money that has hit my bank account during the month of June has increased to:

$337.61

It's still early in the month, so we'll see where things end up.

My goal remains the same:

Keep creating.

Keep publishing.

Keep building assets.

Keep planting seeds.

The funny thing about online business is that most of the work happens long before the rewards show up.

Sometimes you're putting in effort for weeks or months before anything happens.

Then suddenly several things start paying you all at once.

My Email List Shrunk... A Lot

One thing that surprised me today was checking my email list.

My subscriber count has dropped significantly and currently sits at:

3,116 leads

Normally seeing your numbers go down might feel painful.

But honestly?

I'm perfectly okay with it.

My guess is that some of my automation workflows are cleaning out inactive subscribers and automatically unsubscribing people who haven't engaged in a very long time.

If that's what's happening, I'm actually happy about it.

A smaller list full of people who open emails is often far more valuable than a giant list full of people who ignore everything you send.

Better engagement usually means better deliverability.

Better deliverability means more people actually see your emails.

And more people seeing your emails usually leads to more clicks, more conversations, and more sales.

So even though the number got smaller, this could actually be a good thing long term.

The Rank & Rent Waiting Game

In my last update, I talked about diving into the new Rank & Rent program I purchased.

So where am I at now?

A few days ago, I submitted my niche selections for the first 10 websites I'm planning to build.

Part of the process is getting your niches reviewed and approved before moving forward so you don't accidentally build websites in bad markets.

Makes sense.

The problem is...

I'm still waiting.

It's been a couple of days and I haven't received any feedback yet.

Now don't get me wrong.

I'm not upset.

The course creator isn't sitting around waiting specifically for my submission, and I'm sure he and his team have a lot of students to help.

But it's still a little frustrating because one of the training videos specifically tells us to wait for approval before moving forward.

So at the moment I'm kind of stuck in limbo.

There's not much I can do except be patient and wait for feedback.

Not the most exciting update in the world, but that's the reality of where things currently stand.

Sometimes progress isn't blocked by effort.

Sometimes it's blocked by waiting.

And unfortunately there isn't much you can do except trust the process and keep moving forward when the next step becomes available.

The Bigger Picture

One thing I've learned over the past couple of years is that most online business journeys aren't nearly as glamorous as people make them look.

Some days you're making commissions.

Some days you're writing content.

Some days you're learning new skills.

And some days you're laying in bed wondering why you ever trusted a buffet.

That's just part of the journey.

The important thing is continuing to move forward once you're back on your feet.

The goal isn't perfection.

The goal is consistency over time.

Because consistency is what eventually creates results.
