Journey to $40,000 Per Month – Day 107
Sunday, May 31, 2026
Welcome to Day 107 of my journey to $40,000 per month.
It's kind of crazy to think that I've been documenting this journey for over 100 days now. Some days are exciting. Some days are frustrating. Some days feel like you're making huge progress, and other days feel like you're just sitting there staring at your screen wondering if you're making the right decisions.
Today was one of those "thinking" days.
A lot of my day was spent watching informational videos for a Rank and Rent program I'm seriously considering joining. I have my 1-on-1 meeting on Tuesday, and before I spend a few thousand dollars on anything, I want to make sure it's actually something I believe in and want to commit to.
I've made enough mistakes in life to know that excitement alone isn't a good reason to buy something.
Research matters.
Understanding what you're getting into matters.
And making sure it aligns with your goals matters.
So that's where a lot of my focus has been lately.
May Income Update
As of today, the total amount of money that has hit my bank account during May is:
$5,465.10
I'm pretty happy with that.
Now, to be completely transparent, a good chunk of that is still coming from my full-time call center job.
I'm not going to sit here and pretend every dollar came from the internet.
But at the same time, $5,465.10 is still a respectable month by most standards.
The funny thing is that once you start chasing bigger goals, your perspective changes.
Years ago, if someone told me I'd be making over $5,000 in a month, I would've been thrilled.
Today, I'm grateful for it... but my mind immediately starts thinking:
"What would $10,000 look like?"
Then after that:
"What would $20,000 look like?"
Then eventually:
"What would $40,000 look like?"
That's the blessing and the curse of having big goals.
You appreciate where you are while still wanting more.
I also know another payout should be hitting tomorrow, so that number should climb a little higher before the month officially closes out.
Email List Update
My email list has grown slightly and now sits at:
3,854 leads
Not a huge jump today.
Just a couple new subscribers.
But honestly?
Sometimes the small wins are the best wins.
The reason is because growth doesn't only depend on new subscribers.
It also depends on how many people leave.
If your list keeps growing, even slowly, it means people are sticking around.
And that's exactly what I want.
I don't want a giant list full of people who never open anything.
I'd rather have a smaller list full of real people who actually read my emails, click links, and engage with what I'm sending.
One thing I've noticed recently is that my email open rates have started improving.
That's encouraging.
It tells me that the people on my list are paying attention and finding value in what I'm sharing.
For someone who spends a lot of time writing emails, that's always a nice thing to see.
The Big Decision on Tuesday
Tuesday is going to be interesting.
That's the day I'll have to decide whether or not I want to move forward with this Rank and Rent program.
The investment is roughly:
$3,000 if paid in full
$3,500 on the payment plan
For me, the cost isn't really the deciding factor.
The real question is:
Can this help me make money?
Because if a skill can reliably generate income, then paying for education becomes a lot easier to justify.
The challenge is figuring out what's real and what's just marketing.
That's why I've spent the last few days rewatching videos, studying the process, and trying to understand exactly how everything works.
One thing I do find interesting is that the creator has built a lot of proprietary software and tools around the business model.
There are systems for building websites.
Systems for tracking leads.
Systems for handling phone calls.
Systems for managing clients.
That's definitely caught my attention.
At this point, if I'm being honest, I'm leaning towards joining.
But I've learned not to make emotional decisions too quickly.
So I'm going to keep researching, attend the meeting on Tuesday, and then make the best decision I can with the information I have.
We'll see what happens.
Final Thoughts
One thing I've learned throughout this entire journey is that progress rarely looks as exciting as people think it does.
Most days aren't flashy.
Most days aren't viral.
Most days don't involve huge wins.
Most days involve learning.
Researching.
Testing.
Making mistakes.
Adjusting.
And then doing it all over again tomorrow.
That's what today looked like for me.
Nothing dramatic.
Just another small step forward.
And enough small steps eventually become a very long journey.
Thank you for following along.
I genuinely appreciate it.
